“Writing should be a window into the story”

A lifetime of writing, from business to fiction.

My current projects include short stories, flash fiction, and a full-length novel.

I share insights and articles on Substack, and have built a long career in technology marketing.

    Novel in Progress

The title? It’s a closely guarded secret!

After all, I write in the thriller and suspense genre.

I’m drawn to stories about people, especially women and girls, who find the will to stand up for themselves in the face of danger.

In my technology writing, I cut through material that is generic and bloated, and I aspire to the same with the pace of my fiction. Through compelling stories, complex plots, and unexpected twists, I’m honing my craft to keep my readers turning pages.

    Technology Writing

I have spent 25 years in technology marketing, figuring out how to convey complex information to busy people in digestible ways. In the age of digital attention spans lasting about 7 seconds, immediate engagement is critical. I believe that a thoughtful writer and a relentlessly efficient editor must go hand in hand.

Now, as I dedicate more of my time and attention to hooking readers of fiction, I am applying the same principle. My writing must justify the investment of the reader’s time, whether the pay-off is measured in information or entertainment.

  • "With an array of unique and untrustworthy characters, the mystery was complex and engrossing."

    — Judge’s feedback, Beach Fever (mystery)

  • "Wow, this was an excellent story. Well done connecting all the different parts of the plot. By the end, everything comes together nicely. I felt like I was holding my breath."

    — Judge’s feedback, Art Therapy (horror)

  • "I loved the unexpected turn in plot wherein the narrator's rage is ignited, which then leads her to defend herself in a thrilling manner. The ending is fantastic, as is the title."
